victim mentality (part two of “gays are nice people”)

So since my partner in crime–who’s apparently in Vietnam again, traveling the world as he is so wont to do–is unable to post any new posts (or unWILLing to – come ON dan! let us engage in stimulating, rigorous debate!), and since I’m on yet another night-now-day of being wide awake for no apparent reason since 4am (well, perhaps God hates me, that could be a reason), I decided to write a follow up to a blog post I just wrote for whiskeyandacigarette.org. How meta! I enjoy commenting on what I just wrote only moments ago. Isn’t this fun? Yes, let’s begin.

Moments ago, I put up a new post (do you say “posted a post”? that seems wrong. I am unclear as to proper way to say such things) entitled “gays are nice people,” in response to an interview I saw on Larry King Live. You can read it, or not. If you don’t read it, but you ARE reading this post, you won’t really get this post as much. But that’s okay.

The Osteens are a family that goes around the country preaching, and on the LKL interview Joel in particular was very much into criticizing what he calls the “victim mentality” that is destroying our nation (which, of course, is god’s nation, if you were wondering).

Now of course blaming someone’s ills–cancer, no job, cheating spouse, stupid children–on victim mentality might be ill-advised. I’m not even going to go into that one right now, because sometimes stating and unpacking the obvious makes me feel several degrees lesser in dignity, and I’ve not much to spare as it is.

So actually all I’m going to say here is, !omg! “Victim Mentality” would be a great band name!

Also, upon further thought, I think the Osteens should hire me to be their spokesperson, since I believe I can provide better answers than they can in a live interview. I have faith that I can provide better answers. Plus, those two are such Aryans (seriously – check them out) that they need a POC as part of their team to gain a bit more street cred.

More later, but mebbe we can lure Dan back into writing something a bit more interesting. Dan, would it help if I insult someone dear to you? Would that get you in the game?
